Here you can find some quick answers to our most frequently asked questions about DynoTech RS’s ECU Upgrade, both for ‘ECO Tuning’ fuel saving or ‘FAST Tuning’ performance enhancement software.

It would be possible for the manufacturers to equip the vehicles with engines with maximum output directly from the factory. However, car manufacturers produce their vehicles for the international market. The terms and conditions regarding different types of insurance, fuel quality and climatic conditions are just some of the items that should be taken into consideration by the engineers when creating the engines. Therefore, when they proceed with the final tuning of the engines, they are forced to accept a compromise. Vehicle manufacturers use software optimization themselves as a marketing tool. For example, the difference between some models consists only in a different electronic management..
No, DynoTech RS respects and always follows the manufacturer?s safety standards. Modern engines are controlled by electronic knock control, which remains functional even after our software optimization, and which activates the so-called ?safe mode? in the event of a critical state of the engine. Because the increase in power and torque takes place within the limits of tolerance specified by the manufacturer, this does not lead to increased wear.
No, the level of toxic emissions of engines remains within specified tolerances.
Petrol and diesel engines with electronic control unit similarly, provided however that in case of supercharged engines, power increase and fuel consumption reduction are most effective.
Of course! The vehicle must be equipped with an electronic engine management.
Vehicle mileage needs to be about 2.500 km or more.
No. Special equipment is required for the safe handling of the ECU, so the installation can be performed only in our workshops.
It depends mainly from the driving style of the user. FAST Tuning increases torque and power. If the tuned vehicle is driven mainly with maximum loads, which is associated with better acceleration and higher finite speed, it leads to increased fuel consumption. If it?s driven in the range of partial loads, fuel consumption reduces because of increased torque at lower rotating speed.
You can continue to fill in the car with the fuel specified by the manufacturer but to reach maximum power, you should use Super Plus fuel. There are no remarks in connection with diesel engines.
No effects, functionality and durability of a particulate filter remains in full.
To upgrade the ECU on a completely stock vehicle 3 to 5 hours are required. In case of custom tuning on heavily modified vehicles the schedule must be adapted to the needs of each case.
Once we install the optimised software, vehicle power is increased. However, in case of lots of new models, full power is reached only after a brake-in period. The new electronic engine management system works with one Flash eprom and one processor. Processor gradually reads new data from Flash eprom and thus controls the engine. This means that electronics must first learn to process new data. Such learning process continues up to 200 km, depending on the type of vehicle.
